Physical Therapy Assistant/Associate Professor - Arizona

The physical therapy program at the Goodyear, Arizona campus of Franklin Pierce University is seeking candidates for three 12-month faculty appointments at the assistant/associate professor level. Franklin Pierce University is dedicated to preparing physical therapists who are compassionate, evidence-based clinicians, life-long learners, and future professional/community leaders. The campus, located in the Phoenix metropolitan area is a student-centered environment with state of the art technology-equipped classrooms and physical therapy clinical laboratories, including computerized patient simulators. Facing the Estrella Mountains, Goodyear has all the amenities of the big city (cultural opportunities, golf, NASCAR, winter baseball training facilities, hiking) with the friendly, small-town atmosphere of an All-American city.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Strong teaching skills in a small and highly interactive learning environment
  • Clinical expertise (ABPTS Board certification preferred) in one or more of the following areas: geriatrics, neurology, acute care, acute rehabilitation, long term care, cardiopulmonary/cardiovascular, pediatrics, or clinical research
  • Active integration of clinical expertise into teaching
  • Leadership in service to the to the university, community outreach, and the profession
  • Active engagement in scholarly work with an established agenda

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post professional academic degree (Ph.D., Ed.D, ScD) in physical therapy or a related field, and/or Advanced Masters with ABPTS Board certification with demonstrated expertise in clinical physical therapy and academic teaching experience in the area of expertise
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a physical therapist in Arizona
  • Minimum of five years¹ clinical experience
  • Salary and rank (assistant or associate professor) will be based on documented relevant experience and qualifications
