This study examines how corporate governance – specifically on the parts of boards of directors – affects corporations in New Hampshire. Using a grounded theory approach, interview research is being done with members of corporate boards and corporate leaders to examine the challenges and issues faced by the contemporary governance structure.
A preliminary finding of the study is that corporate directors are often also on one or more non-profit boards, and while they are clearly dedicated to their responsibilities on their corporate boards, they are more passionate about their voluntary service on their non-profit boards.
The student plans to complete the project in the summer of 2010.
