The Facility

The Fitzwater Center for Communication at Franklin Pierce houses the University's Department of Mass Communication. Features include:

  • a radio broadcasting studio (WFP-LP)
  • a television station (FP-TV)
  • The Pierce Arrow campus newspaper
  • audio production facilities
  • an online journalism lab, writing and lecture rooms
  • non-linear editing suites

As an academic laboratory for studying the relationship between the presidency and the press, the Center also hosts a Tuesday Briefings lecture series featuring prominent media, political and business leaders. The Center's national advisory board offers students valuable networking opportunities, and its summer professional development program serves media professionals and scholars seeking training in communications and public discourse.
