Anthropology Club

Atlatl TeamThe Anthropology Club hosts trips and events throughout the semester for students interested in anthropology and archaeology. Club members have organized one of the few college atlatl teams in the northeast and have won medals in regional competitions using these ancient spear-throwing instruments. In recent years, Franklin Pierce Anthropology Club members have been invited to attend the annual Archaeological Institute of America fair in Chicago and Boston. The club has also hosted a display at The Museum of Science in Boston. The University is situated near several early Native American encampments rich with artifacts, allowing club members to gain field experience.
