Presentation Title: "Bacterial Antibiotics"

Abstract:

This educational presentation focused on three commonly used bacterial antibiotics: Amoxicillin, Azithromycin, and Cephalexin. All three medications are used to treat bacterial infections by helping the body eliminate bacteria and prevent their growth. The purpose of this project was to describe the mechanism of action, common side effects, and available forms of these antibiotics. The presentation also reviewed common side effects associated with these medications, including headache, dizziness, fatigue, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal discomfort, rash, and itching. In addition, commonly available dosage forms such as tablets, powders for suspension, and other oral forms were included. A comparison of frequently prescribed antibiotics was shown to demonstrate how often these medications are used. This project highlights the importance of understanding how antibiotics work in order to support safe and effective treatment of bacterial infections.
