Franklin Pierce University Welcomes Newest Ravens to the Nest on Move-In Day
Aug 23, 2025
Franklin Pierce University’s Rindge Campus was a buzz with excitement and energy on Saturday, August 23 as the Class of 2029 as well as first year transfer students arrived for their move-in day. Hailing from 23 states and 17 countries, new students and their families were met by the move-in teams of student athletes, coaches, faculty and staff, making settling into life in Raven Nation a breeze. From check-in at Four Corners, to unloading cars and unpacking boxes in the residence halls, with student peer leaders, staff, and faculty readily available to assist at every turn.
Organized by the Student Affairs and Residence Life Teams, new arrivals and families attended The Raven Runway Fair - a high-energy welcome event that included a DJ, relaxation and stress-relief activities, and a variety of service and resource tables to learn more about campus support, including Career Development & Student Employment, Sodexo Dining Services, and Student Wellness & Outreach Education. There was also specific programming for new transfer and international students.
First off, students, we're really happy to have you here - now take a moment to give your families a round of applause for supporting you and getting you here. We chose you, thanks for choosing us, too. There's always a lot to do here. Stick with us and together we're going to have a great year.
Parents and families also expressed their appreciation for all that Pierce has to offer.
Ryan Prentice shared that the family-like atmosphere of Pierce has been phenomenal from the start. "Our daughter Sophia will be majoring in health science and was recruited to play women's ice hockey. It was extra special for us that Coach Stockdale was in the Residence Hall waiting to welcome us, and all the students helping us move in were great."
"Since we in New York, I really appreciate following along with the university’s social media. It makes my family feel part of what's happening on campus, even being hours away. I really can't say enough - the all the coaches, athletic staff and current players we met on our recruiting were amazing, and we knew this would be the right fit."
As the last boxes were unpacked and goodbyes were exchanged, the orientation activities began, and students started to settle into their new home at Pierce, ready to take on the year.
Returning students will be back on campus on Sunday, August 24 and Monday, August 25. Classes for the fall semester will begin on Tuesday, August 26.
