Franklin Pierce University Board of Trustees Announces Two New Members

New Appointments Bring Expertise in Wealth Management and Ties to the Monadnock Region to Strengthen University's Board of Trustees
The Franklin Pierce University President and Board of Trustees announce the appointment of new members Gregory Franks ’80 and Mike Shea.
"Greg and Mike each bring domain expertise that will diversify perspectives among our Trustees and accelerate the current Franklin Pierce effort to stabilize and strengthen in a challenging higher education industry," said Franklin Pierce University President Dr. Peter Eden. “They know the importance of the University and its significant effect on the Monadnock region and beyond. We welcome them to the Board with enthusiasm."
Gregory Franks '80, of New York City and Phoenix, M.D., is a wealth management executive and currently serves as Managing Partner, President, and Chief Operating Officer of Snowden Lane Partners, a financial services company focusing on wealth management and family office services. The firm manages $14 billion in client assets and has 16 offices across the United States. Services include asset allocation, financial planning, lending solutions, alternative investments, retirement planning, endowment, and pension management. He also spent twenty-eight years at Merrill Lynch in senior leadership positions in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. During this period, he was responsible for the wealth management division, generating $4.1 billion in revenue with 6,500 financial advisors in 254 offices. Franks received a B.A. in marketing from Franklin Pierce (College).
Mike Shea, a resident of Jaffrey, N.H., with significant and enduring ties to the Monadnock region, is the President, CEO, and part owner of Belletetes, Inc., a retail building materials supplier headquartered in Jaffrey, operating ten locations in New Hampshire and North Central Massachusetts. Shea is a past Chair of the Jaffrey Planning Board, past President of the New Hampshire Retail Lumber Association, past President and charter member of the Jaffrey-Rindge Rotary Club. Also, most recently, he served nine years on the Board of Trustees at the Monadnock Community Hospital and is a past Chair. He is currently a member of their Capital Campaign Committee. Shea graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1983 with a B.S. in business administration.
