Presentation Title: "Franklin Pierce University SWOT"
Abstract:
This SWOT analysis evaluates Franklin Pierce University to assess its strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, with a focus on improving student enrollment, academic programs, and career preparedness. Key strengths include the university’s strong Division II athletic programs, close-knit community, and scenic campus location with its central access to major cities in the region. The university also benefits from notable academic programs, strong faculty expertise, and reach with its other campuses across the country. Identified weaknesses include student retention rates, financial challenges, and quality of life while living on campus. Opportunities for growth involve expanding online learning options, developing new academic programs in high-demand fields such as AI and cybersecurity, and enhancing experiential learning through internships and cooperative education. In addition to this, a trade school/ junior college can be beneficial to the institution. Threats such as increased competition from better- funded institutions, rising education costs and changes in government pose challenges. By leveraging its strengths, addressing its weaknesses, and capitalizing on emerging opportunities, Franklin Pierce University can enhance its academic offerings, improve student outcomes, and strengthen its competitive position in higher education.
