Franklin Pierce University’s Master’s Entry Program in Nursing (MEPN) provides students with a solid foundation in nursing and masters level courses so they can learn the necessary skills to deliver high-quality and patient-centered care in a variety of settings. At the end of the program, students will be prepared to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN). In addition, students will earn a master’s degree in nursing and a Certificate in Healthcare Administration. The MEPN program is located at the Manchester, NH Academic Center, and is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing. It is also approved by the New Hampshire Board of Nursing. This accelerated program occurs over six consecutive 12-week terms totaling 18 months. A new cohort begins in the fall each year. Master's Entry Program in Nursing Direct Entry Program requirements
Requirements for high school applicants seeking admission to the MEPN Direct Entry Program include:
- A minimum cumulative grade point average in academic courses of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
- Completion of two years of math (minimum of algebra) with grade B or above
- Completion of three years of science with grade B or above
- Demonstrated leadership through community and school activities.
- A completed online application for the MEPN program after you are admitted to Franklin Pierce University
- Once admitted to Franklin Pierce University, to successfully progress from undergraduate studies to the MEPN program by Direct Entry, students must meet the Progression Qualifications for Undergraduate Students.
- If an admitted student fails to meet progression standards, they will be encouraged to reapply for entry during their senior year.
- Admitted students will be assigned a nursing faculty advisor in addition to their undergraduate advisor. The nursing faculty advisor will be available for questions pertaining to the MEPN program.
Minimum grade of B in each of the following courses:
- Anatomy & Physiology I (lab required)
- Anatomy & Physiology II (lab required)
- Chemistry (lab required)
- Statistics
- Human Growth & Development
- Microbiology (lab required)
- Graduate with a bachelor’s degree with CGPA 3.0 on 4.0 scale
Undergraduate junior or senior students are encouraged to apply for Direct Entry to the MEPN program. Application requirements include:
- A CGPA at time of application of 3.0 on 4.0 scale
- 50% completion of prerequisite courses identified under Progression Qualifications for
- Undergraduate Students with GPA of 3.0 on 4.0 scale
- A brief essay describing why they want to pursue nursing, their future goals, and how the MEPN program will help them achieve this (250-500 words)
- Submitting an online application to the MEPN program
- If you fail to meet progression standards, you will be encouraged to apply for entry during your senior year. Admission is competitive and is based on performance and space availability.
