PHEBE L. ROBINSON HIGGINS '05 is a proud alumna of Franklin Pierce University. Many of you may know her as the founder of the A.L.A.NA (African American, Latinx, Native American, Asian American) program, a diversity initiative that began in 2007 focusing on serving underrepresented students attending Pierce. As a first-generation African American college student, Phebe realized that she was quite unprepared to tackle the college world without additional guidance and support. It was with this knowledge that Phebe became determined to change the landscape of how future underrepresented minority students would navigate their way through Pierce. Many years later Phebe found herself drawn back to Pierce to once again help do the good work needed for students on an A.L.A.NA Alumni Affinity group with fellow alumni Herve Fumberi ’05 and Terrell Boston Smith ’06 along in partnership with trustees, faculty and staff. |
While the stories of what led Phebe, Herve, and Terrell to Pierce may be different, there is a commonality that threads each of us together and that is our desire and resilience to succeed.
