Move-In Day Welcomes Franklin Pierce University Class of 2028
Aug 24, 2024
Franklin Pierce University’s Rindge Campus buzzed with excitement as the Class of 2028 arrived for their move-in day. Hailing from 25 states, Guam, and 11 countries, these new students brought with them diverse backgrounds and experiences, enriching the university’s already vibrant community.
The warm August day saw students and their families navigating the campus with ease, thanks to the streamlined process organized by the university's dedicated staff. From check-in to unpacking, the atmosphere was one of efficiency and support, with student peer leaders, staff, and faculty readily available to assist at every turn.
This year’s move-in was particularly special, as it marked President Peter Eden’s first move-in day at Franklin Pierce. President Eden, who took the helm in July, was on hand to welcome students and their families, embodying the spirit of community that defines Raven Nation.
“Stay positive, let us know if you need anything,” he said. “Welcome to Raven Nation!”
Students, too, were excited to start this new chapter.
Health sciences major and member of the Women’s Hockey team Hailey Anderson, who drove with her mom from Greenville South Carolina, noted that the safe, inclusive campus felt like home. "I chose Franklin Pierce because it reminds me of growing up in northern Ontario.”
Blake Santana, a non-traditional residential student majoring sports media and member of the Raven Marching Band who moved early to practice, raved about their experience so far. “I love it.”
Parents also expressed their appreciation for all that FPU has to offer.
“Franklin Pierce has everything [my daughter Elizabeth] needs to thrive,” said Amber Malloy. “It’s a great match.”
Ray Lerette, father of Maisie, who will major in health sciences and play softball, noted the seamless move-in experience and the welcoming environment. "It has been awesome. Truly fantastic," he said. “It gave us a great first impression.”
As the last boxes were unpacked and goodbyes were exchanged, the Class of 2028 began to settle into their new home at Franklin Pierce. With a strong sense of community already forming and a streamlined process that set the tone for the year ahead, the newest members of Raven Nation are poised to embark on an unforgettable journey.
Returning students move in August 25 and 26. Classes will begin on Tuesday, August 27.
