Franklin Pierce University and the Department of Athletics welcomed Special Olympics New Hampshire to campus on Saturday, April 7, as the latter held a practice day for 50 of its Special Olympic athletes.
In all, over 100 people were in attendance at the Grimshaw-Gudewicz Activity Center at Northfields (“The Bubble”) for the event. The Special Olympic athletes in attendance were preparing for the Special Olympic USA Games, which will take place in Seattle in July.
Joining the athletes and the Special Olympics NH staff were 23 student-athlete volunteers from Franklin Pierce, who assisted in the execution of the event. The day featured participants in basketball, bocce, power lifting, golf, track & field, swimming and bowling.
