Franklin Pierce University’s Fitzwater Center, NHPTV, and the Monadnock Ledger-Transcript Co-Sponsor The Monadnock Debates

The Fitzwater Center for Communication at Franklin Pierce University, NHPTV, and the
Monadnock Ledger-Transcript will co-sponsor The Monadnock Debates, a citizen-driven
forum with candidates addressing critical issues. The Monadnock Debates will take
place in Spagnuolo Hall on Franklin Pierce University’s Rindge campus from 6-7:30
p.m. The general public is invited to these free events; parking is readily available.
The first debate is scheduled on Tuesday, August 12, between candidates for the GOP
Gubernatorial nomination. The candidates participating are Andrew Hemingway, Walt
Havenstein, and Jonathan Smolin.
The second debate is scheduled on Tuesday, August 19, between candidates for the Republican
nomination for the Congressional District II seat. The candidates participating are
Marilinda Garcia, Gary Lambert, and Jim Lawrence.
The third and final debate is scheduled on Thursday, August 21, between candidates
for the Republican nomination for the United States Senate seat. The candidates participating
are Robert D'Arcy, Mark Farnham, Bob Hegmann, Walt Kelly,
Andy Martin, and Bob Smith

JR Davis, an attorney with the Keene law firm Sheldon, Davis, Wells & Hockensmith,
P.C., will serve as moderator for the Debates. Davis served as moderator for the New
Hampshire State Senate debates hosted by Franklin Pierce in 2012.
