President Mooney joins Emily Rice, Dianne Mercier and Susan Duprey to discuss female leadership
Franklin Pierce University President Kim Mooney was featured on a panel of prominent leaders sponsored by Bernstein Shur and the New Hampshire Women’s Bar Association called, “Breaking Barriers – A Conversation with Female Trailblazers in New Hampshire’s Business, Non-Profit and Legal Communities.”
Mooney brought her expertise in the non-profit education sector as the first female President of Franklin Pierce. A 1983 graduate of the University with a Ph.D. in Social Psychology from the University of New Hampshire (UNH), Mooney’s has remained dedicated to Franklin Pierce throughout the past few decades, from being an active alumna, to serving on the Board of Trustees for seven years to later serving as Franklin Pierce’s Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs. Mooney has spearheaded the development of the University’s new Strategic Plan and has made its implementation a central focus of her presidency.

Emily Rice, Former U.S. Attorney for the District of New Hampshire
Emily recently served as the first woman appointed by the President to serve as U.S. Attorney in New Hampshire, the state's chief federal law enforcement officer. She is one of New Hampshire's most respected trial attorneys, beginning her career in the New Hampshire Attorney General's office, followed by two decades in private practice, most recently at Bernstein Shur. Emily has chaired the New Hampshire Bar Foundation, the Campaign for Legal Services and Red River Theatres, and has been honored with the Dufresne Award for Outstanding Professionalism

Dianne Mercier, President, People's Bank
Dianne has served as President of People’s United Bank in New Hampshire since 2009. She is extensively involved in the community, with past and current board service including positions with Elliot Health System, Rivier University, NH Business Committee for the Arts, Greater Manchester YMCA, and the Nashua and Manchester Chambers of Commerce among others. In 2015, Business NH Magazine recognized her as ‘Business Leader of the Year’ and in 2016 the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce named her their ‘Citizen of the Year’.
Susan Duprey, Attorney, Bernstein Shur
Susan is a senior of counsel attorney at Bernstein Shur, widely regarded as one of the top real estate and land use lawyers in New Hampshire. She is one of the first 100 female members of the New Hampshire Bar, and served for eight years as the first female managing partner of a major New Hampshire law firm. A past board chair of the Heritage United Way and Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, Susan served in 2012 as Chief of Staff to Ann Romney during the Romney for President campaign and was recently appointed by Governor Chris Sununu to the Judicial Selection Commission.
