Franklin Pierce University Hosts “Relay for Life” Event

Franklin Pierce University will host a “Relay for Life” event in the Fieldhouse on its Rindge campus, starting with registration at 7 p.m. on March 28 and ending at 2 a.m. on March 29 with a closing ceremony. Each year, the American Cancer Society holds Relay for Life events all over the world to raise awareness and funds for the fight against cancer. During the Relay, cancer survivors, families, and participants celebrate where they have been and what they have overcome, recognize loved ones who are currently battling cancer, and remember those who have been lost.
Relay for Life participants walk in honor and remembrance of loved ones. The Relay extends into the night with teams of “walkers” who pledge to walk laps from 8 p.m.-2 a.m., taking turns with their team members. Interested participants can create their own team or join with an existing team. It is also possible to sign up as a “virtual participant,” join as a survivor or caregiver, or sponsor the Relay at Franklin Pierce. Event sponsors may donate raffle items or food for the event, or make a cash donation to the American Cancer Society.
The Relay for Life Committee at Franklin Pierce University invites individuals from the general public, as well as from the Franklin Pierce community, to join them in their walk to celebrate more birthdays and the continuous fight to end cancer.
