Franklin Pierce University announced the hiring of Jim Wolken as executive director of marketing & communications, a new position for the University. Wolken brings more than 20 years of marketing experience to Franklin Pierce, having held senior level marketing positions at MIT, Suffolk University, Rhode Island School of Design, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
“I’m excited to join a university with such a distinguished history,” said Wolken. “Franklin Pierce has been a pioneer in academic programs and course development, and their faculty genuinely cares and makes time for its students. That’s a powerful combination.”
A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Wolken co-founded a strategic marketing company in 1994, serving as president and chief creative officer for 10 years. Among the agency’s clients were the New England Patriots, the New England Revolution, TAC Worldwide, and Economic Development Office for the State of Massachusetts.
“Jim brings strong marketing experience to the University,” said President James F. Birge. “This is a new position for the University and it speaks to our commitment to really spread the word about Franklin Pierce and the high quality education we offer our students.”
