Franklin Pierce University is proud to be the recipient of an $85,000 Alden Trust grant, sought to support the planned upgrade to production facilities in the Marlin Fitzwater Center for Communication in the weeks ahead.
“The University is grateful for this philanthropic support,” said President Kim Mooney, “and we look forward to applying the grant to help enhance the production capabilities to better meet the demands of our communications curriculum and prepare students to enter their chosen professions with relevant experience and confidence.”
The Trustees of the George I. Alden Trust announced their decision to provide the grant during their December distribution meeting. The Trustees focus their grant-making on capital needs. Recent funding has included support for classrooms, libraries and laboratories as well as for the acquisition of scientific and technological equipment and infrastructure.
George I. Alden established the Trust in 1912 with an expressed interest in "the promotion of education in schools, colleges, or other educational institutions." Based in Worcester, Mass., the Alden Trust supports independent colleges and universities in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and the six New England states.
