Franklin Pierce University, the Department of Athletics and the baseball program are proud to announce the dedication of the Bruce and Patricia Kirsh Clubhouse on Sunday, Nov. 15, at 1:30 p.m. Franklin Pierce students, faculty and staff, as well as the greater Rindge community, are all invited to attend.
The ceremony will take place at Dr. Arthur and Martha Pappas Field on Sunday afternoon. Scheduled to speak at the proceedings are University President Andrew H. Card, Director of Athletics Bruce Kirsh, head baseball coach Jayson King and senior center fielder Maxx Sheehan. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held in the Fieldhouse.
The facility’s name recognizes two alumni who have shown a remarkable commitment to Franklin Pierce. Bruce Kirsh ’71 has held several positions in his 42-year tenure at the University, but is best known as the University’s Athletic Director, a position he has held for 35 years. Patricia Kirsh ’70 was instrumental in mentoring aspiring teachers and served as the University’s coordinator for all student teaching placements and observations.
The Bruce and Patricia Kirsh Clubhouse will provide the baseball team with a permanent space at its home field, as the building will house both player lockers and coaching offices, in addition to an umpires’ room. The facility further enhances state-of-the-art Pappas Field, helping it remain the premier Division II baseball facility in New England.
