Franklin Pierce Welcomes Three New Trustees

Franklin Pierce University announced the recent election of three new members to its Board of Trustees, Dr. Paul Millard Hardy, Al Minahan and Laura Treonze.
"We are extremely fortunate to welcome these new Trustees who bring a breadth and depth of experience and talent to Franklin Pierce University,” says President Andrew H. Card, Jr. “I look forward to working with them and benefiting from their knowledge and insights in order to help advance our University.”
Dr. Paul Millard Hardy received his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, Rochester, New York. After completing a Medical Internship at the Baylor College of Medicine, Methodist Hospital, in Houston, Texas, he returned to the University of Rochester where he completed a residency in Neurology at Strong Memorial Hospital. In 1976 he was a Joseph P. Kennedy, Jr. Fellow in Medical Ethics at Harvard University.
The following year, Dr. Hardy completed fellowship training in Behavioral Neurology in the historic Behavioral Neurology service at the Boston V. A. Hospital, a service of the Boston University School of Medicine. He later joined the staff of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver Center in Waltham, Massachusetts and became an Instructor in Neurology at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Hardy also served on the faculty of the Tufts University School of Medicine holding joint appointments as an Assistant Professor of Neurology and Psychiatry. From 1985 to 1992 he helped to co-found the internationally renowned Boston Higashi School and served as the school's Medical Director and then as President after the untimely death of Dr. Kio Kithara. In 1992 he started his own full-time private practice of Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry.
Dr. Hardy is a diplomate of the American Board of Medicine and the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and he is also the Chairman of the Board for the world-renowned Autism Research Institute based in San Diego, CA.
Al Minahan is a Senior Policy Advisor at Preti Strategies. Since his election to the Massachusetts House of Representatives in 1977, Al has been a persuasive force among the region’s leaders in business and in politics. After seven years’ service as a legislator, Al began his public policy and communications business, where he has since represented and advanced the interests of his clients when navigating the difficult nexus of commerce and government. Mr. Minahan works with his clients to plan long-term public affairs strategies, stake out policy positions and craft effective messaging at crucial junctures. His contacts across industries and agencies are an invaluable resource in achieving lasting results and growing his clients’ businesses.
Minahan is a graduate of College of the Holy Cross and served for a year in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Massachusetts Association for Mental Health (MAMH).
Laura Treonze serves as Chief Life Strategist at her consulting firm, LMT Consulting which helps executives and teams create massive success through self-awareness. Her life-changing approach has transformed individuals and families and has redefined the way non-profits and corporations “do" business. Her clientele includes non-profits, wealth management groups, pharmaceutical companies, retail executives, event management teams, and real estate firms to name a few. Treonze is a national speaker and has been published in “Living the Law of Attraction” and WIN: 35 Winning Strategies From Today’s Leading Entrepreneurs.”
Treonze is a Certified Professional Behaviors Analyst, Master Behavioral Analyst, Professional Motivators Analyst, Professional Tri-Metrix HD Analyst and is a Certified Strategic Interventionist with a background in Language of Sales and Coaching Skills for Real Estate. Treonze has also served as a peak performance coach for one of the world’s leading self-development gurus. She received her Bachelors of Arts in Political Science/Mass Communication and Journalism from Stonehill College.
The new Trustees terms began on January 15th and are four years long.
