Dr. Kim Mooney Appointed to NH Higher Education Commission
Dec 20, 2017
Franklin Pierce University President Kim Mooney was appointed this week to the New Hampshire Higher Education Commission. The Commission is responsible for the regulation of colleges and universities—public and private—that are physically located in New Hampshire.
Formerly the New Hampshire Postsecondary Education Commission, the NH Higher Education Commission was established in 2011 under the Division of Higher Education, within the NH Department of Education.
“I am pleased to join the other higher-education leaders serving on the Commission to help regulate and protect the educational interests of college and university students attending all of New Hampshire’s higher-education institutions." stated Dr. Mooney.
In his letter announcing Dr. Mooney’s confirmation and appointment by the Executive Council, New Hampshire Governor Christopher T. Sununu offered his appreciation for her willingness to serve.
“Thank you for your public service and dedication to our state,” wrote Governor Sununu. “The commitment to devoting time; the dedication to offering knowledge, experience and expertise; the willingness to serve and understanding the good cultivated from these contributions are deep rooted principles throughout the citizenry of our great state.”
