Pre-Orientation Wilderness Adventure Program (POWA) Registration

Participants, parents/guardians please read and understand the following: I will be participating in multi-day kayaking or backpacking trips that may lead to incidents, accidents or emergency situations. I understand that certain elements of this program may be challenging and potentially difficult. Potential risks include, but are not limited to: drowning, hypothermia, hyperthermia, broken bones, contusions, bruises, allergic reactions, burns, animal/insect attacks, or bowel distress. Although some risks listed above may seem unlikely, the possibility exists in all outdoor activities. I understand that all efforts will be made to prepare me for wilderness travel, but also understand that environmental conditions can change without notice. I also give Franklin Pierce University the absolute right and permission to use my images and words in its promotional materials and publicity efforts indefinitely.

Program fee is $300.00. A $150 deposit must accompany this application. The balance is due two weeks prior to the first day of the program. Deposit is non-refundable two weeks before the program. Non-personal gear brought from home is subject to approval by Program Director Doug Carty.
