Presentation Title: "The value of a creative outlet"
Abstract:
My name is Katie Tustin. I am from Guilford, Vermont. I am a first year psychology student and I love my community here on campus.I am hoping to use my degree in the mental health field, and begin the demolition of unhealthy stigmas within society. I currently work on the 5th floor of the library as a career center assistant under the guidance of the lovely, Ann Goodrich-Bazan. In my free time I am a part of the ethics club where I participate in the analysis of ethical dilemmas with my teammates. I also partake in the Raven Spirit Team.
In a world filled with daily stressors and tasks, the true benefits of nurturing a creative body cannot be overstated. This poster journeys into the depths of human creativity, revealing its profound impact on various aspects of life. From the earliest expressions of art in cave paintings to modern digital art, creativity has been a beacon of innovation and expression throughout history.
At its core, creativity represents an essential part of human nature, providing a means for exploring and articulating our innermost feelings, and thoughts. Through painting, writing, cooking, or any other artistic endeavor, individuals overcome obstacles in daily life. This practice leads to personal growth and discovery not only of themselves but also gives them a deeper appreciation of the world around them.
This poster clarifies the multitude of benefits of engaging in a creative outlet. Scientific research has consistently shown that engagement in creative activities can have a profound effect on psychological well-being. Such as greater adaptability in navigating complex social dynamics, improved cognitive function, and heightened problem-solving skills.
Creativity also plays an important role in fostering meaningful relationships within communities. Promoting creativity in the world can pave the way for greater empathy and understanding among individual groups.
