Presentation Title: "LUK Inc. Apprenticeship"

Abstract:

This poster explored the experience of participating in the Urban Youth Collaborative Apprenticeship at LUK. Inc in Fitchburg Massachusetts. One student participated in this 10 week program over the summer that included both an educational aspect and hands on experience in the human services field. The apprenticeship included working with LUK. Inc's Prevention team who works heavily in both the community and other organizations. The role of being an apprentice included research into marijuana laws in the surrounding communities. The goal of the prevention team is to educate the community and continue to research anything that may affect the community. The apprenticeship was a well rounded experience for the student and encouraged exploration of the human services field. This poster serves to educate others on the Youth Urban Collaborative Apprenticeship. Furthermore educate others on what work in the human services field may look like for those interested.
