Presentation Title: "Pathways to Resilience: Exploring Post-Traumatic Growth"
Abstract:
This literature review explored the concept of Post-Traumatic Growth (PTG) across three central themes: physically traumatic events, illness-related traumatic events, and the role of medical and psychiatric interventions in fostering growth post-trauma. Research methodology relied on the APA PsycINFO database for relevant articles on Post-Traumatic Growth (PTG). A total of 40 articles were selected based on specific inclusion criteria: peer-reviewed journal articles published in English focusing on PTG as a primary outcome. This methodological approach allowed for a comprehensive synthesis of the current literature on PTG across different types of traumatic experiences and the therapeutic interventions that facilitate such growth, ensuring a robust understanding of the phenomenon and its contributing factors. By synthesizing findings from a variety of studies, this review shed light on the multifaceted nature of PTG and the diverse pathways through which individuals can achieve significant personal development following traumatic experiences. In conclusion, this literature review further elucidated the transformative potential of Post-Traumatic Growth across varied traumatic experiences and highlighted the pivotal role of targeted interventions in positively manipulating recovery and resilience.Return To Schedule
