Presentation Title: "Women's Suffrage Movement and The Obstacles They Faced"
Abstract:
The Suffrage Movement, 19th century to the early 20th century, is seen as a pivotal moment in history for women in the United States of America. The barriers established by the patriarchy, gender roles, and societal standards, were challenged. The eminent belief by men that women lacked the intellectual capability needed for civic engagement became the main hurdle hindering the progress of the suffrage movement. Although they grappled with many difficult obstacles, the women’s suffrage movement is known as a demonstration of resilience and determination. Organized advocacy led the way for the establishment of the Nineteenth Amendment in 1920.
