The New Hampshire-based, on-ground 27-month Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) program is designed to train outstanding PAs who are compassionate, patient-centered providers. Explore an environment where you will engage in clinical training experiences among diverse patient populations. U.S. News & World Report (2021) named Physician Assistant the #1 Best Job, and the program was ranked #2 in the nation by the Rural Health Research Center (2016) for producing a high proportion of graduates that go on to work in rural healthcare. Your clinical training will include rotations throughout the underserved regions of New Hampshire and Vermont. The program is unique in its emphasis on collaborative medicine and support of life-long learning. Develop hands-on, practical skills at the Lebanon, New Hampshire campus. In addition to classroom instruction, local clinical experience is a vital component to the program. Full-time courses are designed for program completion in 27 months.

The Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA) has granted Accreditation-Continued status to the Franklin Pierce University Physician Assistant Program sponsored by Franklin Pierce University Accreditation-Continued is an accreditation status granted when a currently accredited program is in compliance with the ARC-PA Standards.
Accreditation remains in effect until the program closes or withdraws from the accreditation process or until accreditation is withdrawn for failure to comply with the Standards. The approximate date for the next validation review of the program by the ARC-PA will be September 2027. The review date is contingent upon continued compliance with the Accreditation Standards and ARC-PA policy. Admissions Requirements
All prerequisite courses must be passed with a grade of "C" or better and be completed prior to matriculation. Applicants must possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and a science GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants may apply with up to two outstanding prerequisites.

Applicants are required to demonstrate at least 500 hours of patient care experience. We define ‘Patient Care Experience’ as experience in which you are involved in hands-on direct care of a patient that is not for academic credit. Examples of direct patient care experiences include, but is not limited to, employment or volunteer experiences as a nurse, EMT, paramedic, CNA, phlebotomist, respiratory therapist, etc.
Applicants are required to shadow at least 20 hours with a PA in order to be eligible for review. The PA Shadowing form must be signed by the PA you shadowed or by an individual with authority to attest to the number of hours you shadowed a PA or number of PAs.
All applicants who were born outside of the United States and who did not graduate from a United States high school will be required to submit internet-based TOEFL (iBT) scores with their application. A minimum total score of 100 (with at least 25 in each section) is required. The Educational Testing Service (ETS) code for submitting your score to CASPA is 3709.
After verifying that the minimum requirements for admission are met (see above), the program will evaluate each candidate’s academic achievements, personal attributes and experiences. Factors given specific consideration are listed below. Please note that none of these factors, alone or in combination, guarantees admission. However, all else being equal, candidates who demonstrate a greater number of these factors will generally be in a better position for an interview and for admission.

- Research, publications or presentations
- Letter of recommendation from a healthcare provider and/or supervisor
- Overcoming significant life adversities and struggles
- Multi-lingual ability
- Work Experience
- Military or government service (including spouse)
- Voluntary service
- Medical or healthcare experience
- Franklin Pierce University student or alumni
- Resident of Vermont or New Hampshire
- From an underserved or rural area or extensive experience with populations from underserved/rural areas
